Leading the Charge

Leading the Charge

Luceco Group, is proud to announce its collaboration with the Electrical Contractors Association’s (ECA) Leading the Charge digital series. Leading the Charge is a collection of films, podcasts, and articles, exploring the sector’s pivotal role in realising the UK’s energy security and net zero ambitions. Topics include renewables, energy storage, retrofitting, automation, and electrical safety. As well as raising awareness of these key issues, it aims to help inspire the next generation of installers coming into the electrical industry.

The venture is supported by a select group of industry experts, including Luceco Group. For Luceco, the project was a perfect alignment given Luceco’s commitment to achieving net zero and in tackling climate change. The company are making strides thanks to innovative products, and collaborations with experts and consumers in the electrotechnical industry.

As well as building a leading portfolio of sustainably designed products that deliver environmentally responsible electrical and lighting solutions, Luceco works to understand the sustainable ambitions and visions of its customers. They share this goal of a collective journey towards sustainability, which is why Luceco’s commitment to net zero goes beyond product development, to business operations, right through to its culture and people.

Luceco achieved its goal of making its own operations carbon neutral in 2021 and continually strive to reduce their carbon footprint, targeting a reduction of 42% of their scope 3 emissions by 2031.

Key developments of the Luceco Group include the recent acquisition of Sync EV, a leading manufacturer of domestic electric vehicle chargers. This has enabled Luceco customers to adopt even more lower-carbon alternatives from a brand they know and trust. In addition, as the demand for safer, cleaner, and more efficient alternatives continues to grow, Luceco has committed to offering the most efficient lighting products with the lowest carbon footprint in the industry.

“We felt the core message and timing of the Leading the Charge campaign seemed a great fit for Luceco and aligned perfectly with our own net zero ambitions and goals, so we’re delighted to be part of it and very much look forward to its success”

Simon Shenton, Head of LED Development, Luceco

Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA)

The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), the voice of the UK electrical industry, with partners Content with Purpose, have launched Leading the Charge, a new digital series exploring the sector’s pivotal role in realising the UK’s energy security and net zero ambitions.

ECA is the UK's largest trade association representing electrical, electrotechnical and other engineering contractors in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland at regional, national and European level. ECA member-companies are rigorously assessed before membership is approved.

“The effects of the climate crisis and energy insecurity are being felt across all parts of society. The electrical industry is arguably the best-placed to install the EV chargers, connect the renewable energy sources, upgrade the grid and deliver the technology that will make a low-carbon, fossil-fuel-free society not only possible, but a far more viable alternative to today’s status quo.

We hope this new series, gathering our industry’s brightest minds and most influential players, will help viewers to realise the magnitude of the impact the electrical sector can have on the future of the planet if we level-up and seize the opportunities ahead.”

Steve Bratt, ECA Group Chief Executive
